The short version. We are a referral service, not an insurance company. When you fill in the quote form, we pass what you entered to a licensed insurance agency so that they can contact you about coverage. That is the whole business. We never ask for your Social Security number, bank details or card details. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details in section 11.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by AmericaLifeInsurance ("we", "us", "our"). In this policy, "the Site" means americalifeinsurance.com.
We are not an insurance company, insurance agency or broker. We are not licensed to transact insurance in any state, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any insurance carrier — including any company with a name similar to this website's. We do not underwrite policies, set rates, approve applications or give insurance advice. Our only role is to connect people who ask for a quote with licensed insurance agents.
2. Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information: what you type into the quote form, and technical information your browser sends automatically.
What you give us
| Information | Why we ask for it |
|---|---|
| ZIP code | To find agents licensed in your state |
| Age range | Age is the single biggest factor in what coverage costs |
| Coverage amount range | To match you with agents who offer that product |
| Tobacco use (yes / no) | It materially changes the rate an agent can quote |
| First and last name | So the agent knows who they are calling |
| Phone number | The agent's primary way to reach you |
| Email address | An alternative way to reach you |
What we record automatically
When you submit the form, we record a consent record: the exact consent language shown to you, the date and time of your submission, the page you submitted from, your browser's user-agent string, and your IP address. We keep this because federal telemarketing law requires us to be able to prove that you gave permission to be contacted. It is a protection for you as much as for us.
We also use website analytics, which collects general usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type and referring website. See section 7.
3. What we never collect
We do not ask for, and you should never enter on this Site:
- Social Security numbers or any government ID number
- Bank account, routing, debit or credit card numbers
- Passwords or login credentials
- Medical records, diagnoses or prescription histories
If any page claiming to be this Site asks you for those, it is not us. Nothing on this Site ever requires payment.
4. How we use your information
- To pass your quote request to a licensed insurance agency so that they can contact you
- To keep a record of the consent you gave, as required by law
- To respond to you if you contact us directly
- To understand how the Site is used and improve it
- To comply with legal obligations and to defend against legal claims
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
6. Your consent to be contacted
By checking the consent box on the quote form, you give prior express written consent to be contacted by the agency named in that consent language, at the phone number and email address you provided, including by automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or prerecorded voice, and SMS text message — even if your number is on a federal or state Do Not Call list.
Your consent is never a condition of buying anything, and you can revoke it at any time. To revoke it:
- Tell the agent on the call to stop contacting you — they are required to honor it
- Reply STOP to any text message
- Email us at contact@americalifeinsurance.com and we will pass the request on and remove you from our records
Message and data rates may apply to text messages sent by the agency.
8. How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and their associated consent records for four years. The reason is legal: the federal statute of limitations for telemarketing claims runs for four years, and the consent record is the evidence that you gave permission. After that period we delete the records, unless a longer period is required by law or an active legal claim.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see section 10.
9. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. We limit access to submitted information to the people and services that need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do not store payment or government ID data at all — which removes the most damaging category of risk entirely.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over the information we hold about you:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used and shared
- Access a copy of it
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete it
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of it
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California law defines "sale" and "sharing" broadly. Because we pass your information to an insurance agency in exchange for a referral fee, this may be treated as a "sale" of personal information under California law. We tell you this plainly rather than burying it. To opt out, email us at contact@americalifeinsurance.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information listed in section 2 (identifiers and commercial information) and disclosed them for the purpose described in section 5. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as California defines it.
Other states
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights, including the right to appeal a refused request. Use the same contact details below.
How to make a request
Email contact@americalifeinsurance.com with the request and the phone number or email address you used on the form, so that we can find your record. We will respond within 45 days. We may ask you to confirm details you submitted in order to verify that the request is really from you — we will not ask for new sensitive information to verify you.
11. Contact us
For any privacy question or request:
Email is the fastest and most reliable way to reach us, and it is the address monitored for privacy requests.
If you want an agent to stop contacting you, telling the agent directly is the fastest route; emailing us also works.
12. Children
This Site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and you must be at least 18 to submit the quote form. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you at the email address you provided.
